About Tara carr
Tara Carr is based in N.Wales and has 30 years experience as a professional artist having provided a variety of creative art projects in schools, privately and for the community for over 20 years. Tara studied Illustration at the North Wales School of Art & Design, Glyndwr University and Design Studies at the University of East Anglia.
During the early days Tara worked in London as a freelance illustrator, portrait artist, print shop manager, mural painter and supervisor on therapeutic murals for hospitals in North London, at this time she also completed a City & Guilds Teaching Certificate in Further Education.
She has also given private tuition in drawing and painting and taught decorative paint effects as part of an interior design course. In the late 90’s Tara fell in love with batik and has spent many years exploring the endless and exciting possibilities that this medium has to offer.
In May 2007, Tara completed training in Classical Mosaic at the Mosaic Art School, Ravenna, Italy, using traditional tools, a hammer and hardy, marble, stone and smalti.
For the last 10 years Tara has worked as Artist in Residence at Ysgol Glan Gele, N. Wales.
